Mums the word....

Okay, I know..this is the second post for me today...but the mums were just to beautiful lazing in the afternoon sun..not to share with you~

god gave me 8 little ladies, to love...

Yes, I have eight granddaughters, and each one is as special as the other. In our home we have a "grandgirl bedroom", and that is what I want to share with you today.
I found the lovely crocheted spread at a local resale shop for $30.00! The vintage pink wood bed tray is the perfect setting for my antique children's dishes. The little baby dresses are from some of the little ones. This room is one of my favorites..it's bright and sunny...and filled with love.

the thrifty nifty old bird cage!

I was at one of our local thrift stores (where they know me by name!),,, and there it was,..in all it's splendor. The old bird cage sat there, beautifully chipped up! This cage was waiting just for me. I snatched it up fast as lightening..hurried home..gave the old sweet thing a bath...and fell in love! For now, I have her hanging over the snack bar...and if you look closely inside you will see a small nest with two darling little eggs, an old journal with ribbon marker, and a "fall pick" with lovely feathers. It is such fun to find the treasures! Thank you for spending time with me and my sheets blowing on the line.

Fall'n Angels...

It's a very chilly morning here in Missouri. It is suppose to be much colder tonight and tomorrow. I thought it was the perfect time to show you, the mantle. I am really not an "angel collector". If I see one that I really like then it's mine. The angel on the left side of the picture, the one with it's wing hanging over the mantle...uhh...i accidentally super glued him to the mantle...so I guess whenever we decide to sell this house...the angel goes with the house. LOL!

Peanut Butter ROLO cookies....yummmmm

Thought today was a perfect day to make my 87 year old father some cookies. He has Parkinsons Disease severely. I hope he sits down and munches away. He is loosing weight rapidly, and maybe this will help put a bit back on.
I know every little girl thinks she has the "best dad in the world" but i truly do..:)

fun with fall colors!

Finding Friday!

It's friday! On fidays i enjoy going through my house making "little" changes here and there. I added the tassel to the end table and the lamp, and i think it adds just the right touch! The end table was purchased at "weekends only" for $99.00! If my mother could steal this and carry it home on her back..she would!! LOL!
