Oh Lord, thank you for letting me blog once again!

It's be since November 27th, since I have been able to blog.  Oh, how I missed each and everyone of you during this absents.  Due to health reasons and just be generally overwhelmed, I stopped.  BUT, now I am back and better than ever.  So welcome to our home, once again...it's been just too long since we have had you as our guest!

 So, let's start out with our romantic Valentine's Day Mantle.  My cherubs are easily adapted to celebrate the LOVE holiday.


With the mantle so busy, I went for a more classic look on the end table.  The old book is "Rebecca of Sunny Brook Farm" with a date of 1923 on the inside cover.

The other day on my way to my mother's home, I stopped by GW and there it was, this heavy cut glass beauty!  Isn't she just the berries!!  $9.89, and she was all mine.   On the same day, I scored this lovely old candle holder.  The patina is perfect, and she too JUMPED into my card for $2.89!

She really isn't old, but she thinks she is! :)   I don't know about you, but when I find to treasures in one day at GW, I swear it feels like I have wings on my feet!

I place this love worded picture on an old stand behind my Bible, and I think it looks perfect.  The patina on the stand is the same patina that is on the cherub candle holder.  Ahhh, who could ask for anything more!

 Tomorrow, we will move into the dinning room.  I just can't wait for you to see all the RED, Hearts, and Silver in there!

It's Home Tour Saturday!

Happy Saturday everyone!  In St. Louis we are still so excited , with the CARDINALS winning the World Series!  It is crisp and beautiful this morning,...55* right now!  It thought you might enjoy a "walk thru" as I prepare for Thanksgiving with warming touches all over our home.  So sit back and enjoy...stay awhile :).

Here we are in the master bedroom, I have switched the spread to our warm and cozy winter weight spread.  Added a table runner...yes, a table runner toward the bottom of the bed.  I saw this done at JC Pennys in their linen department....so I thought I would try it!  Isn't it just grand!!

Removing the light linen table cover and replacing it with a deep rued cover made the room feel much cozier.

                          Yes and I am a bit crazy about tassels....oh, don't worry there's more!

Adding an extra coverlet makes the "grandgirls room" ready for winter.  Don't you just love how the way the fall sunshine has changed it's direction and is highlighting different areas in your home.

                                                I warned you ...there are more tassels!

                                 In the dinning room I chose a fall tablecloth for a warmer feel.

                                                                Yes, there's more!

                                        This lovely pillow was a GW find! $.99! love that!

             Mr. Owl book..just looked so cute on the ottoman.  Marty over at  "A Stroll Though Life"    had the awesome idea of using scarfs draped on tables...isn't she amazing!!

                      Using statues I found at GW this summer really adds warmth to this end table.

      I just had to add a bit of whimsy to today's home tour.  I hope you enjoyed being with me today!

Redo of nightstands....

Today I decided that our nightstands needed a fresh "outlook"!  So, I started with a clean slate, then added one piece at a time until I was content.  
Here is how my DH, Wayne's side turned out...

                                     the oil painted wood folding screen was purchased at a
                                     garage sale for a whopping $10.00!!


Let's move over to my side, and NO, I don't have a "don't touch" sticker on MY side of the bed!! (sorry honey)...

                                       Everything you see here was purchased at GW, for
                                       pennies! Don't you just LOVE that~!

                                        I paid $2.99 for this beautifully painted glass lamp.

                                       Then added this charming beaded shade....

             and there you have it...and it didn't cost me a dime. I just used what I already had!
