But baby it's COLD outside..

Armed with lights, red velvet ribbon, wreathes and LOTS of them, candles, gold ribbon, and tons of coffee...this morning my wonderful DH
and I headed outside.  The wind swirled the leaves at our feet and stung our cheeks...but we were not detoured.  Our mission was to turn our sweet little home, into a home you might have seen in days long gone.
We hope you enjoy what you see, as much as we enjoyed putting it together.
This Christmas is going to be the very best Christmas!

Yes, it IS beginning to look alike lot Christmas!

Thankful for my DH!

Yesterday was "Black Friday" here in Saint Louis.  We vowed not to get caught up in all the hype...but we really needed ...REALLY needed new curtains in the living room and dinning room, JCPenny's had the 60% off!  So bless his heart he took me and said, "get whatever you want honey"...did I tell you  "I  love that man"!!  First thing this morning....armed with his measuring tape, drills, mollies, screws, spackle, ladders, and paint...he began putting up my lovely...beautiful curtains.

The drapes are very heavy and are lined to help with heating and cooling costs.

The bead work is stunning, I think.

The heavy tapestry material lends beauty and balance with my heavy furniture.

Wayne, honey..THANK YOU! You are my EVERYTHING!

I am also still decorating for Christmas, and yes, I am still trying very hard to keep it simple.

Blessings,
rebecca

It is starting..can you feel it in your heart?

As I told you all the other day...I am simplifying Christmas.  This way of celebrating the birth of our Savior with simple ideas and gifts will allow us to feel the true spirit of Christmas.
Our home is starting to look festive :)

Isn't Prancer looking lovely today!

The coffee table done up in gold and creme.
I use gold, red, white and creme here too.
If we ever sell our home this angle on the fireplace must stay...I accidentally super glued him to the mantle.
I adore Prancer's cutout work! This is just a start of my Holiday decor, so stay tuned!

10 more days til Thanksgiving.

There are just 10 more days until Thanksgiving.  This year, I am simplifying my holidays, both of them.  I am saying NO, to "overdoing", stress, and overly high expectations.  This year I am focusing on abundance in my life...and yes, I have abundance in family, friends, and many aspects of my life.  This year I am walking through the malls slower, and I am steadying my heart thus allowing it to beat at a  slower pace.  So as we begin our journey into the Holidays...focus on what is important, LOVE...love...love.....
